1700, 7300, 7200 Series (Non XP) Units Stainless Steel Fertilizer Tube
If your roll pin holes for your seed tube guard on your planter show wear your seed tube guard will not fit snug. We suggest this product. The roll pin holes are enlarged to 13/32 in. This will allow the seed tube guard and attached stainless fertilizer tube to hold fast and snug to your row unit.
This simple yet effective design is totally protected by the disc blades, so rocks should not be an issue. This provides a 1/4" inside opening that will accept a 1/4" fertilizer line inside or 3/8" hose outside with a hose clamp for a leak free connection. The optional seed bounce flap closes the opening between the disc openers assuring correct seed placement by eliminating seed bounce and ricochet.
Totally Tubular Benefits
- Starter Fertilizer application deeper in the soil profile
- Instant root uptake for early plant health
- Maintenance free
Installation Instructions for Model TT002 Oversized
Step 1
Remove depth gauge wheels and disc's, taking note of shim placement.
Step 2
Remove factory seed tube guard.
Step 3
Drill a 5/8" hole in the top of the shank of the row unit as shown. This hole is centered on the row unit, left to right, and 1" to the center of the hole from the front of the shank.
Step 4
Slide TT-002 up into position and feed the top of the tube through the hole that was just drilled. The tube fits through the triagular shaped hole in the front of the row unit; not all row units are made the same so you may have to take a punch and drive into this opening to make it slightly larger; then up through the hole you just drilled.
Step 5
Align roll pin holes and install new roll pins (supplied). Important: Do not force the holes to line up. Due to slight differences in the planters, the top bend on the tube may have to be adjusted slightly to allow the roll pins to line up without force.
Step 6
Re-Install seed tube.
Step 7
Re-Install disc openers taking care to get the correct shim placement.
Step 8
Re-Install depth gauge wheels.
The TT-002 is made from a thicker stainless steel tubing than the rest of our tubes. This allows the 1/4" line to fit inside this tube, however the John Guest fitting will NOT fit on the outside of this tube.
